The 50th Anniversary Festival programme has now launched, at the Vale of Glamorgan Festival’s Odysseus Trio concert at St. David’s Hall. A sizeable audience turned out to see Robin Green, Alice Neary and Sara Trickey perform beautiful works by Peteris Vasks, Dobrinka Tabakova, Huw Watkins and hear the exciting programme lined up for 2019. Vale of Glamorgan Festival are pleased to announce this programme is now live on our website and tickets for most performances are already available, with early bird booking until February 2019.

We are overjoyed to be presenting the Berlin-based Armida String Quartet and New York-based Sandbox Percussion as featured artists – both internationally acclaimed and forward-thinking ensembles that will be delighting our audience with a diverse array of music (and some unexpected musical instruments).

Steve Reich is our 50th Anniversary festival patron – and several of Reich’s works are included throughout the festival programme. This also includes a Welsh premiere of his brand new orchestral work, performed by BBC National Orchestra of Wales. With over 20 world premieres, from internationally acclaimed composers to the emerging stars of composition, the 50th anniversary festival promises to be an adventurous voyage into the future of classical music. Fall in love with something new in 2019. We look forward to seeing you there.
