VOGF’s Peter Reynolds Composers Studio is a week-long residency for emerging composers, with mentoring from Course Director Rob Fokkens and Festival Artistic Director John Metcalf, seminars, one-to-one tutorials, composition workshopping, and a play-through and recording of compositions with the multi-award winning Armida Quartet. The course is run in partnership with Cardiff University School of Music, with support from Arts Council Wales, Tŷ Cerdd and Idlewild Trust.
“The advice I received has had a traceable, positive impact on my work. I left feeling inspired, knowing what to work on, and wanting to be better at my craft.”
“Taking part in the Studio granted me access to networks that ultimately allowed me to sustain myself as a professional composer. As a result I was commissioned to write two new pieces.”
