There are few more atmospheric settings for a chamber concert than the magnificent twelfth century Ewenny Priory Church, particularly when bathed in the glow of candlelight. Against this fabulous backdrop members of Ensemble MidtVest (the festival’s resident ensemble) showcase their virtuosic skills in a diverse programme that ranges from the blistering pace of Chrissietina’s Magic Fantasy to the meditative serenity of Rest in Reason, Move in Passion.
Consisting of a string quartet, wind quintet and pianist, Ensemble MidtVest brings together 10 outstanding players, all specialists in chamber music and distinguished soloists in their own right. The ensemble is renowned for its ambitious programming, pushing the boundaries of the traditional classical concert and enthralling audiences with its creativity and musicianship.
