Support the Festival

Support us

The festival has always been, and will remain, all about championing and supporting the work of today’s composers, who continue to inspire, intrigue and dazzle us with their fantastic creativity and artistic urge to find new ways of interpreting the 20th and 21st century through their music.

We want to keep programming wonderful events and supporting the most extraordinary composers, but we can only do this with your help. Whether it is time, or a donation you can contribute – big or small – helping us however you can will make a vital impact in securing the festival’s future.

Email us at to find out more about opportunities to support your festival.

2022 Festival Syndicates

Igniting Young Talent (£75+ contribution)

Help us to nurture young talent by supporting our development programme.

Helen Woods is a talented composer with a gift for inspiring children. VOGF has commissioned Helen to create a new work, inspired by the words of Greta Thunberg. This will be the focus of primary school mass workshops and resource packs – helping to spark the imagination and talents of tomorrow’s music makers.

Peter Reynolds Composers Studio takes place across the festival week and provides experiences that are “like gold dust” for exceptionally talented graduate level composers. Students are given one to one tuition, workshops and seminars by festival featured composers – whilst developing and presenting new works.

As syndicate members you will be invited to attend behind the scenes key moments and be first to hear new work that is created

International: Sandbox Percussion, New York

(£100+ contribution)

Help us to bring to Wales some of the most exciting musicians working today – to enthral and inspire audiences, composers and musicians. 2022 Double Grammy nominees Sandbox Percussion will thrill with their exceptional passion, energy and skills – with events ranging from the mesmerising Seven Pillars performed at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to leading Luther Adams’ mass percussion masterpiece Inuksuit in Bute Park.

Become part of the syndicate and we will ensure you have the opportunity for an up close and personal experience of Sandbox Percussion that you will never forget.

Exceptional Support

Festival Patrons (from £250)

Provide exceptional support and make exceptional things happen. The restrictions over the last two years and their repercussions have made the festival’s future uncertain. Help us to put the festival back onto a firm financial footing by becoming a Festival Patron and enjoy exclusive insight events. Your support has the power to transform composers’ lives and music development in Wales.

Festival Futures Fund

Help to give the most talented new composers, and wonderful Welsh music, a future. Funding for new composers’ work is rare. Individuals showing extraordinary artistic talent have limited opportunity to develop new music masterpieces.  By enabling new work you will not only be igniting a new composer’s future, you will also have a permanent special association with the music.

The creation of new music makes an unforgettable and life-long gift.  We can help you mark a special anniversary or celebration by arranging a private premiere of your commission in a beautiful venue, unveiling music you will always be part of.

Contact the VOGF Artistic Director, John Metcalf, on if you would like to find out more about private commissioning opportunities.
