Vale of Glamorgan Festival brings the best of contemporary and new classical music from living composers to adventurous audiences from across Wales and internationally.

It’s been a while in the making, but over the Winter we’ve been hard at work planning a Vale of Glamorgan Festival for 2021 around the challenges of the COVID pandemic.

We’re excited to reveal that this year’s Festival will move from its regular May date and take place from Saturday 11 to Friday 17 September, when the UK Government expects the majority of pandemic restrictions to have been relaxed.

As always, we’ll be sharing the joy of exploring music by living composers, often in the presence of the people who wrote it. We’ll have eight concerts across six intimate venues in South Wales, showcasing works by five featured composers. They are Judith Weir, Sarah Jenkins, Peteris Vasks, Guto Puw and the 75th birthday celebrations of our very own Artistic Director John Metcalf. Performers include innovative ensembles Solem Quartet and Magnard Ensemble, and pianist Siwan Rhys, who featured in our 2020 Festival at Home series.

We’ll be announcing the full programme in the coming weeks and tickets will go on sale

in April. Following us on Twitter @vogmusicfest and and Facebook @valeofglamorganfestival for some sneak previews.

It’s been a long time.  We look forward to seeing you again in September!
