A celebration of living composers
Welcome to this year’s Festival — birthday celebrations, new commissions and stunning a cappella singing.
We are honoured to be visited by Arvo Pärt in the week of his 75th birthday. He’ll be in the audience for the world premiere by BBC National Orchestra of Wales of his latest work for orchestra. The dynamic Amsterdam Cello Octet also present a programme packed with Pärt premieres, and he also has a choral masterpiece sung by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.
Pärt celebrations lead to other Estonian connections: you can sup on Estonian cuisine and hear the unique sound of the Estonian kannel with ensemble Resonabilis and poet Philip Gross in an intriguing event that’s sure to sell out fast! And at Fonmon Castle, Resonabilis are joined by leading harpists Ruth Wall and Rhodri Davies. Expect a virtuoso vocal display from juice in a programme including some brand new love songs; and the RTÉ Vanbrugh String Quartet bring the Festival to an atmospheric, candlelit conclusion.
Join us in stunning venues for a remarkable musical experience!
